how to live, travel and explore the world from your van

Agency Creek Campground Idaho

Agency Creek Idaho, 2-5 days, April to November

Agency Creek Campground in Idaho only has 4 campsites and they are on a first come first served basis. The campground is partly BLM and some Idaho national forest property but it really doesn't matter. You can camp as long as you want if you move to a different site every 2 weeks if the ranger is checking. This is a fairly secluded and interesting area. You can bike, hike, tent camp, Vanabode, fish, take pictures, shoot a movie, see wildlife and even ride some offroad vehicles on portions of the area.

The remote terrain makes this tiny place worth visiting.

Last time I checked you could camp at Agency Creek for free. Keep in mind though the sites are primitive so bring all the items listed in the Vanabode book. The forest is beautiful. The terrain is varied and there are outhouse style toilets here.

Directions: Leave Tendoy and go 4 miles east on the the Lewis and Clark Backcountry Byway.

Vanabode Special Notes: You're going to want to visit Agency Creek in the warmer months from April to September. Otherwise, you will be freezing your tail off all night. Aside from that, this is a great place to Vanabode, as there are no fees and most of the land is BLM. Ultimately, if you go in the summer, you'll have a great time at Agency Creek Campground in Idaho.
